Packing materials with a cushion function can prevent the goods from being damaged by external force during transportation. The cushion material has many types such as foam, honeycomb, paper, bulk and fabric. This study combines the modified polyethylene terephthalate (MPET) fibers and three-dimensional, hollow, crimp polyethylene terephthalate (HPET) fibers to form the complex nonwoven fabrics. By opening, carding, laying, and needle punching, the MPET and HPET are made into complex nonwoven fabrics. The complex nonwoven fabrics are then thermally treatment at 160, 170, 180 and 190 ?C forming the resilient, cushioning MPET/HPET complex nonwoven fabrics. The resulting nonwoven fabrics are evaluated for tensile strength, tear strength and bursting strength to determine the influence of the thermal bonding temperature.
